| The DQN
Guild belongs to a group known as the Southern
California Council of Quilt Guilds (SCCQG). This group
provides our Guild with Business guidance, general
organization and Federal tax requirement information, as
well as being the source for the liability insurance
that allows the Guild to utilize facilities such as the
Henderson Convention Center, the libraries and the YMCA.

benefit from SCCQG is that if any individual member of a
guild loses their quilt room to disaster (flood, fire,
earthquake, etc.) that member is eligible for a $250
"help" check to begin replacing the sewing machine's,
tools and stash. In addition, the Guild Representatives
to SCCQG are usually notified so they may bring
additional items to help rebuild those lost rooms.
The DQN board
allotted $100 checks to two members of California guilds
who lost their homes to the Redlands fires.
In addition,several members have come forth with
donations of patterns, fabric, and tools. One member
has even volunteered a sewing machine or two.
These actions
represent the best side of quilters - sharing. You make
me proud to represent you at the council. Thank you.
