It takes many hands to have a
successful guild.
23 plus years we have grown together in
friendship with the love of an art that is not
dying but resurrecting from our love of color,
fabric, shapes, stitches and designs.
Now we are ready to hand over the gavel to new
sets of hands that will guide us.
Many times groups of friends have gotten
together to support one another and have
become awesome boards.
October will be here soon and a new board must
be elected for our guild to continue.
These positions are important but not
monumental. With the help of past
volunteers and interested guild members they
become an adventure.
All four officers positions are open as are
some committee chairmanships
Please call any of the Board members to learn
what their role is in DQN
Learning about a position takes the
uncertainty away.
Won't you consider using your talents
for one of these positions.

June is family month, the 1st is Children's
day, the 6th is Family day, the 21 is Father's
day. Along with these wonderful sharing
days we have World Environment day and Flag
day to contemplate.
In most places we would have all the windows
open listening to the sounds of the community.
With the heat setting in we close up the
windows and make our environment inside again.
This month find extra time to celebrate
family.
Share with someone your memories of how your
life has changed since you started quilting.
Who or what inspired you to quilt.
I started on my own when I was pregnant, then
spent many days and nights with my best
friends quilting with their children playing
under the quilts. I took my first
quilting class 20 years after that first
quilt. I still have the quilt.
Remember Tri-Chem paints? I think that
paint is what kept the quilt together. Oh so bad.......
If you have an idea pass it along to the board
or circle rep. Is there a Teacher you really
enjoy? Is there a class you have always
wanted to take? Pass it along to a
circle rep or board member. We have gotten a
start on that list. Can we add you to it
as a teacher? Send a note to Ann.
Any
guild/circle activities that you would like
posted please send to Web mistress QltKit@aol.com.
Once YOU say yes to volunteering, others
follow.

Every spring the Desert Quilters
of Nevada sponsors a Quilt Show to provide
members with an opportunity to display
their quilts. A Fashion Show and
Miniature Auction are also part of
this event. Our yearly Opportunity
Quilt Winner is also chosen during our
show. Throughout the day prizes
are drawn using your show entry
ticket. We also provide an out
door covered venue for eating.
Each year we have a wonderful
selection of food for those hungry
souls that want to stay the day at the
show.
