2010  Fall Retreat 'Hallows Eve'

Rooms are $50.00per day for Friday and Saturday.  There are 2 Queen beds occupancy is for up to 4.  So share a room with your best buds.

Aug 25,2010 cut off for registration at the hotel at these prices for the retreat.

Non members may apply to join our retreat, however Desert Quilters Members have first shot at classes..  Retreat class reservations are at the bottom of page.  It can be post marked no earlier than August 1st and no later than August 10th.   Only 100 people will be able to attend the retreat so don't hesitate in getting your room reservations and class reservations in . 

Some ladies leave on Thursday and drive to St. George to the quilt stores for the day. Thursday's room prices are $40.00 per room and check in is after 2:00pm.

We will start our fun on Friday at 2:00 pm with Check-In, Open Sewing, and Make & Takes with Karen Bristow and the beginning Mystery Quilt instructions, with Gerda Hanson and Sheila Scuderi.  Bring your Orphan Blocks to be collected at check-in for a Bed size quilt block drawing.   The more blocks, the more opportunity to get a second drawing.

Each person will have their own sewing space in the main room for the whole event.  

Friday Evening dinner at 6:00 pm will be our famous potato buffet.  Peg Cummings will be our entertainment Chair.  Open Sewing until midnight. 

One class begins on Friday after dinner and finishes up on Sunday morning from 8 to 12, check the schedule.

Saturday will have open sewing after breakfast with three Full day Classes.  A Make and Take table and the Mystery Quilt instructions will continue. 

In the evening after dinner, Prizes will be awarded for 1st place, Scariest & Funniest  Halloween costume and Best /Ugliest  Wearable item,  (Items can be worn during dinner.)

 We would like the attendees to bring their Halloween items like table runners, wall quilts, quilts, place mats and dolls to make our own Trunk Show.  Prizes will be awarded.  Open Sewing until midnight.

Sunday we have a breakfast, in the Hotel Buffet from 7-9 am.  You will receive a Buffet ticket at the Retreat check-in.  DQN “T” Shirt Day The Oldest, Rattiest, and Best  Embellished "T" shirts wins a prize.    Sunday there will be two Half day classes and the 2^nd part of “Quick to the Finish “,  Make & Take with Karen Bristow and Open sewing from 8 to 4 pm.   A Box Lunch at noon with the Orphan Blocks drawing will be an added treat for everyone and a great send off for those headed home early.  

Anyone wishing to take a St George Trip to the Quilt Shops will need to make arrangements with other Retreat Goers.  Maybe someone would like to take on this adventure for Friday morning.  The Ladies usually go Thursday Afternoon or Friday Morning.  Rooms are cheaper at $39.00 on Thursday.

I hope everyone is getting excited. Please note the class registration list for times and classes. We will have all class projects coming around to each circle before registration ends.  The web has registration sheets and information on each class and the retreat schedule. We have fabric amounts and cutting directions for the Mystery Quilt.  (note button below)

Registrations must be postmarked August 1^st through August 10^th.  We have a short window to do final preparations and confirmations.   To expedite the registration, make sure your e-mail is on the registration form that you send in.

A reminder that nonmembers are charged more for the retreat and for classes and as always are invited to participate if room allows.
